RadFlight was founded in 2011, making them one of the first commercial drone companies in the country. Its founders, Mike Rivard, a drone visionary, and Tim Baur, a veteran pilot and professional photographer, saw drones' potential in today's society.

Timothy Baur
Timothy Baur started flying UAVs in 1983, and his passion developed into a career that culminated in shooting his first job with a camera drone in 1998. His assignments have been as diverse as filming for commercials, television, and movies, along with extensive time in inspection, mapping, telecommunication, and environmental projects.
As well as being a seasoned drone pilot and operator, he is an experienced instructor. He teaches classes on flying drones from beginner to advanced and has taught hundreds of people, from enthusiasts to professionals. In addition, he has over 4,000 hours of sUAS time accumulated.
The triumvirate to his expertise is that he has been a professional photographer and director for the past 40 years, ensuring the quality and precision of the drone's capture. In addition, Tim has been obsessed with photography and aviation since he was a teenager. He soloed a Cessna 182 at 16 and acquired his commercial pilot's license in 1990. He flies both fixed-wing and helicopters, along with paramotoring for fun.

Mike Rivard has been a pioneer, visionary, and leader in the emerging drone industry since its inception in 2011. He is the Founder and CEO of RadFlight, Inc., a company he founded in 2011. RadFlight has operated in many segments of the drone industry. For example, they have designed and built custom multi-copters for the entertainment industry, including the first aerial vehicles used on the popular History Channel show “American Pickers.” In addition, RadFlight has one of the most respected training courses for all levels of pilot skills.
Rivard is also the past president and organizer of the 1,300-member Los Angeles / Orange County Drone User Group, an organization for professional drone users.
